General information about Nandrolone Decanoate:
One of the world’s best-known steroid preparations Deca Durabolin is the active ingredient Nandrolone Decanoat, which first officially appeared on the pharmaceutical market in 1962. Structurally, the drug nandrolone is very similar to testosterone, but with nandrolone the carbon atom is missing at position 19. Due to this fact, nandrolone is also referred to as 19-nortestosterone. As nandrolone in free form, like free testosterone, is rapidly broken down by the body, a decanoate ester has been attached to the active ingredient nandrolone, resulting in nandrolone decanoate.
Esterified drugs are initially inactive in the body and become active only when the attached ester is separated. The separation of the ester is difficult for the body, so this process takes place over a longer period of time, so that it comes to a continuous release of unesterified, active nandrolone in the body.
After an injection of 200mg Nandrolone Decanoate you can see at the leveling mirror that after 3 days the highest values are reached. Thereafter, the level drops until, after 16 days, the initial value of the injection is reached again. However, the trajectory can be different by regular injections by drug accumulation.
The mode of action of Nandrolone Decanoate:
Deca Durabolin is popular in bodybuilding sports because Nandrolone Decanoate causes good muscle building effects with significantly fewer side effects than other anabolic androgenic steroids such as testosterone, Dianabol (Methandienone / Methandrostenolone) or Anapolone (Oxymetholone).
Due to its structure, Nandrolone Decanoate has significantly less androgenic effects than testosterone. In addition, in the reduction by the 5-alpha reductase enzyme, nandrolone is not converted to testosterone in dihydrotestosterone, which is known to be more androgenic than testosterone itself.

In the 5-alpha-reductase of Deka, the active ingredient dihydro-nandrolone remains, which acts even less androgen than the starting material nandrolone. Nandrolone decanoate thus causes significantly fewer androgen-related side effects such as acne, masculinities, prostate problems, aggression, hair loss, as testosterone and many other anabolic androgenic steroids. Deca Durabolin, like testosterone, is converted to estrogen by the aromatase enzyme, but the conversion rate is only 20% of the rate observed with testosterone. For this reason, Deca Durabolin causes significantly less estrogen-related side effects such as water retention or gynecomastia than testosterone.
Unfortunately, like all nandrolone variants, Deca acts as progestin, which means it directly stimulates the body’s progesterone receptors. Nandrolone decanoate shows about 20% of the effect of progesterone. This leads on the one hand to progesterone-related side effects such as water retention and prolactin-related gynecomastia, as well as to a strong suppression of the body’s own testosterone production. In fact, an injection of 100 mg of Deca Durabolin is enough to completely suppress the body’s own testosterone secretion. Already after this single injection, it took up to a month in some cases until the body’s own testosterone production had returned to its original level. Since Nandrolone Decanoate has very little androgen activity, it can cause impotence in some users. For this reason, an androgenic active substance such as testosterone is usually combined with Deca Durabolin in practice.
The dosage of Nandrolone Decanoate:
The most commonly observed dosages range from 200 to 600 mg per week in men, with the average duration of use ranging from 8 to 16 weeks. Since Deca Durabolin has a long half-life, as mentioned earlier, most users inject Deka once a week.
